Our vision, aim and objectives is to bring together all ageing researchers, academia, government institutions in charge of older person’s well-being, CSOs and individuals promoting older persons’ well-being and media from all 16 SADC countries namely Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, United Republic Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe and other African countries and other collaborators from the global North and global South who are interested in ageing issues in SADC so that we become the main center for ageing research aimed at generating data to be used by all governments, CSOs, Media, academia, and regional and international development partners to improve well-being of older persons in SADC and to address regional and international research gaps in ageing research in SADC. Thus, we envision a research consortium that will be generating most representative, comprehensive and reliable scientific data on ageing in SADC that will influence policy and practice. This is because data on every aspect of ageing will be simultaneously collected from all 16 SADC countries.
